Dearest Family and Friends:
Merry Christmas! I thought I would try something new this year and so I have created a blog. I am excited to hear from all of you and can't wait to catch up on news with you.
Quite in contrast to last year this Summer brought us the grayest and wettest one in years. It also brought us many changes. Our first big change was that Eric graduated – it was a very proud moment for us all with both grandmothers in attendance. After our great wet Fall last year our winter turned into a disaster. January brought a great snow and ice storm and for me it brought a fall on the ice, 7 stitches and a concussion, of course now Mark has a reason to say I am dizzy.
Andrew, age 20, is completed working as a detailer at a car dealership and is works for a private company tiling. He is also part-time employed again at Abercrombie. He is now sporting around on “dry days” in a motorcycle. He is still into video games and is drummer for a band.
Eric, age 18, after working as a temp at a warehouse just got hired on full-time with benefits. He is contemplating which college he will attend and when he will start. Eric is a guitarist in the band.
Zak, age 18, Eric’s best friend moved in with us last Spring. He works at Starbucks full time and has a girlfriend named Katie. He is the leader of the band and loves to sing and write music. It is a blessing to have Zak with us and we hope he feels the same.
Mark is at Bayliner (US Marine) for his fourth year in Arlington. His business trip to Italy was a success and he was able to get a mill for his company. He just celebrated another birthday and he is excited that he doesn’t have to commute any longer. His dad just suffered a two minor strokes and is doing well in recovery.
My brother and his wife arrived in January only to escort me to the hospital his first sightseeing trip in Washington State, the emergency room. I am grateful that they were there, probably saved me quite a trip to a long recovery. Employment wise, I stayed at Woodinville Alliance Church as the Early Childhood Director over the summer while finishing up my Bachelors in Family Studies (Bachelor of Psych) at Corban College, online. I am done with my core program and made a career move to Housing Hope in Everett for one month. On the day I went to work I received a call for a Children’s Director position. After a 6 week interview and wait process I accepted the position for KIDsPOINT Ministry (God's inspiration) at The Point Church in Arlington, Washington. It has been a good move and a long one but I am meeting new people and new friends.
We will be spending Christmas in our new home with Mark’s mom and our boys. There are a lot of people we love and will miss. We wish you many blessings in the New Year.
Love, Mark, Vicki, Drew, Eric & Zak
